Let’s get to know each other better.

Meet Tiffany

Hi there! My name is Tiffany and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I know that starting work with a therapist can be challenging for a number of reasons, so I hope that getting to know me a bit more can help to make this process feel a bit more comfortable.

I began working with clients in 2016 while attending graduate school at California State University, Fullerton. My initial experience was working with youth in an agency setting. From there, I transitioned to work for a private practice where I shifted my areas of focus to working with adults individually and in the couples setting. Prior to starting my own private practice, I worked for a mental health start up agency providing individual therapy and clinical assessment to support client enrollment processes.

Throughout my previous and current work with clients, I strive to provide non-judgmental care and consistent, neutral support. I take a holistic, client-centered approach, which means that I hope to get to know people as their whole self, not just the “problems” that are bringing them into care. I show up in sessions as my genuine self and hope to create an environment where my clients feel safe to do that same.

  • I believe that everyone has strengths and my goal is to empower clients to recognize and build upon their strengths to work through barriers that may be leading them to feeling stuck. I am a very directive, action-oriented therapist and work best with clients who are looking to engage in skills-based work towards tangible change. I believe that in order to actualize real change, we need to stop sugar coating the concerns and start addressing some tough and uncomfortable emotions. I try to blend compassion, humor, direction/honest feedback, and reflection in my work with each client.

  • I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to support clients with identifying problematic thought patterns in order to work directly to pause and restructure thoughts to navigate uncomfortable emotions. In doing so, clients begin learning how to respond - not react - to emotions, situations, and relationships.

I also have extensive training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, so I will primarily utilize this approach in working with couples, as well as folks hoping to strengthen interpersonal skills individually.

Additionally, I also have training and experience in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioal Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and parental skills training.

  • I am originally from Vermont and have ventured from one mountain town to another since finishing my undergraduate work at the University of Vermont. I currently reside in the Pacific Northwest and am loving it! I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, backcountry touring, paddleboarding, backpacking, and pretty much any other activity that will get me out to explore the outdoors! When I’m not out adventuring, I love spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to podcasts, and reading.
